Mallorca is an emblematic island because of the beauty of its coves and beaches. If our holidays have a small ingredient of romance and passion, there is nothing like boarding a car with our partner and heading towards the most secluded and intimate coves of this region.

Of course, if it’s about tranquility and good atmosphere, we definitely have to talk about Llucalcari, a beach like few others, that although it does not have gastronomic services, it’s worth visiting only for the beauty of its dazzling landscapes. If you leave from Palma, you should only go to the Valldemossa – Deià – Sóller route, from where you can park your car and continue the journey on foot to the cove.

On the other hand, if the reason for our trip is purely family, nothing better than giving our little ones a getaway to Playa de Palma. This cove, in addition to being close to the capital, has the advantage of having parking near the beach, as well as numerous shops, restaurants and playgrounds for the recreation of our children. Further north, from Puerto Pollensa, we can follow the Puerto de Alcúdia-Playa de Muro- Can Picafort route, to enjoy a paradisiacal Majorcan corner that will delight the whole family.

Offer yourself the pampering that you deserve

Next to the beaches and the historical monuments, Mallorca also has a wide network of local and artisan markets that suppose an entire experience. If you plan your trip around this reason, you can go to a car rental service in Mallorca and start early in the week to discover the cobbled streets of the city and the colorful shops of Calviá, Artà, Alcúdia, Lloret de Vistalegre. Colònia de Sant Jordi, Petra, Santanyí or Puerto Pollensa. If you start the tour on a Thursday, my recommendation is that you go to Deià, Inca or Ariany.

And if it is a Friday, the best opportunities can be found in Binissalem, Llucmajor and Maria de la Salut. For the weekend, the craft markets open their doors in the capital of Mallorca, Santanyí, Felanitx, Buñola, Sa Pobla and Alaró, among others. Also keep in mind that markets usually start at eight in the morning, so if you do not want to miss a single opportunity, come early.

On the other hand, if you prefer to add a cultural touch to your trip, you can choose to visit the craft factories of the region. The mythical glass blowing of Mallorca picks up its history in workshops such as Lafiore (Valldemossa road, kilometer 11) or Gordiola (Palma-Manacor road, kilometer 19). To complement the route, we also recommend visiting the Teixits Vicens factory, on the way to Puerto Pollensa, where you will discover the production process of the beautiful Mallorcan fabrics, although if you like more pearls, your destination is in Majorica, at kilometer 47 of Palma-Artà.

The path of culture

To fill your cultural history with Mallorca, you cannot miss the Cartuja de Valldemosa (Valldemossa-Deià), the Romanesque refuge of the legendary Chopin and the writer George Sand.
