Our trip throughout the southwestern part of Majorca continues today with a chill-out beach town, situated at the salient angle of the island. If you are fortunate enough to pass by San Telmo in order to have a drink, do some sightseeing or anything else, you most certainly feel like if you were sitting at the borderline of the world!

A tiny fishing port in its essence, with a modest resort reputation, it has something pretty hard to describe in its ambience, but very remarkable. All the tangling begins with the actual name of the location, because it is being known under a variety of names: Sant Elmo, Sant Elm, or San Telmo.

This charming village is named after the sailors’ patron, and this happens for a reason: it remains a work fishing port up to this current day and is also a popular spot for yachting. Thus, the major attractions of this village have bine provided by nature itself. Even if there are many coastal resorts in the island of Majorca, San Telmo is gifted with the natural protection afforded by the mountains. This fortunate situation allows extensive views over the open sea and at the same time protection from the elements.

The quality of light is tremendous here and it may make you feel in a tropical mood, at which you can add up the crystal clear blue waters and distant horizon, movie-like. With two main beaches: San Gran – a sandy beach, quite large – and Sa Petita – a small pebble beach-.

Undoubtedly, there are lots of things that you can do in San Telmo, because this gentle simple village has a wide variety of nature walks to explore and has the most complicated virtue of all: simplicity, at its finest.
