After yesterday’s article, I’ve come to realize that a top 3 of Majorca’s best places couldn’t be enough. This is why I have decided today to add some things up.

Sóller and Port de Sóller. This would be our today’s first stop. We are talking about an amazing place, that became wealthy thanks to the valley’s abundant citrus groves. In the 19thcentury, when this area was completely isolated from the rest of Majorca by mountains, the oranges were shipped to France from the nearby west coast. The opening of the Sóller road tunnel was the clear proof that the town has a good access to the rest of Majorca. Therefore, the town of Sóller is one of the most beautiful in Majorca, being a paradise for hikers, cyclists, gourmet lovers and a totally desirable option to spend your vacation.

Santanyí. This is a very well-known place, with a friendly neighborhood. Locals know each other quite well and they really like to stop for a chat with neighbors. For visitors it would be a great idea to watch the daily routine, sip a café con leche or even a glass of wine on one of the many terraces on the square. Be it for the scenery, or curiosity or even for its interest in art, Santanyí is well worth a visit and the best time to go is when the market is in town. I strongly recommend you to enjoy your breakfast in one of the cafés and watch the continual coming and going of one of the nicest markets on the island. Take a look around the galleries or stroll around the market stands with their vast selection of curiosities.

Orient. It is a small hamlet, located on one side of the Puig de Alaró. The sheer beauty of the mountain scenery is already a convincing reason to come here. It is also the starting point for a number of interesting hiking tours and a really popular area for mountain bikers. The village itself has only 40 houses, so we are talking about a quite reduced number of inhabitants.

As I have always said, Majorca is a treasure that has to be discovered!
