Nothing compares to the unique feeling when you are walking barefoot in the morning at first hour on the wet and slightly cold sand of a beach from Mallorca. Every moment of a holiday on this island it’s magical! I could spend my entire life by the seashore here surrounded by wonderful people, splendid beaches and its peaceful tranquility.

Therefore, today I will tell you about another amazing place situated in the southeast of the island, about 10 kilometres from the rural town of Santanyi and the popular resort beach of Cala D’Or. Named Cala Mondragó or also often called sa Font d’en Alis, this place is a beautiful beach of fine white sand located in an environment of great ecological value, within the natural park of Mondragó and is framed in a wild location, surrounded by pine forests with a fine white sand and incredibly clear and turquoise waters.

The beach has been protected from development and is considered to be one of Mallorca’s most beautiful areas with its sand dunes, pine forests, beautiful coastline and rocky coves. This region is easily accessible and has good services, several bars, rental of umbrellas and hammocks, showers, picnic areas and a playground in the shade.

Its waters are shallow making it an ideal place to go with your family, friends or your lover. For all that and more, Cala Mondragó has been awarded the Blue Flag of the European Union and is usually a very busy beach especially on weekends in high season. There are two restaurants on the beachfront at Cala Mondragó where you can find good food at a pretty good price. They are casual offering tapas, fish, chips and some simple Mallorcan dishes. When it comes to activities, bring your snorkel mask and a good book because Cala Mondragó is the perfect beach to do just that. If you want something more than sunbathing and swimming, remember that you are inside of the beautiful Mondragó Natural Park which offers a diverse landscape and many trails to explore along the cliffs, dunes, ravines and canyons while appreciating the rich ecosystem that exists here. Life close to the Mediterranean sea it is in my opinion, the supreme ideal life. Whatever you choose to do, do it well and enjoy your vacation!
