Today I stayed a few minutes to think about how to begin this article. Having so much to tell you about my holidays in Palma de Mallorca, sometimes I don’t know with which place to start. First of all, I must mention that I absolutely enjoyed every place I visited on the island from beaches to towns. I liked the people their tasty food ( as proof, every time I returned home, I was on a diet :)) ), the roads, the hotels and everything, absolutely everything. Therefore, I will start telling you about the best kept secret beach I fell in love with named Caló des Moro that is one of the most beautiful destination once you reach Palma de Mallorca.

Es Calò des Moro is one of those picture perfect locations that takes your breath away and is located in the south east of the island, six kilometres from Santanyí. Is a small beach but its 40 metres is covered with fine-grained and bright sand (underfoot both on land and in the water there is light, fine sand).

Perfect for a swim between the high cliffs, the Caló des Moro is a real dream beach – the water is crystalline with the most beautiful turquoise shades and the broad view from the small bay over the rocky coast opposite is pleasing to the eye. Also some small, flat, smooth rocks lies in the shallow water and you can sit on them. Because of its small size and popularity there is not much to do on than relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. On how wonderful it is this place it is also one of the more challenging beaches to access.

To get here you have to drive along a road that is officially private for the last part of the journey but there you’ll find a free parking along the road and then you have to continue on foot on a dirt path that twists down the cliffs to the beach. Don’t let that put you off – pay attention and keep your eyes peeled when you comparing the beaches – the neighbouring bay of Cala s’Almunia is often mistaken for Caló des Moro because it is on the way. After so much effort, you can go in the water, make lots of pictures and enjoy that perfect moment. I honestly say that it is a great sin to go through Palma de Mallorca and not to visit this beach that is hard to describe in words. I would go back to this place anytime!
