From mountains to beaches, orchards to nightclubs, Mallorca sets the stage for one of the most unique and varied vacation getaways you can have in the Mediterranean. 🙂 This island has the most warm-hearted people with a proud and lively culture, stunning lands and seascapes, pleasant year-round weather and the best food ever! 😀 And how in my last article I have promissed to tell you about Maria Salinas Restaurant, well, let’s do it because I always keep my promises! 😛 So, today we will talk about one of the best stops (a real taste delight) on your visit to Mancor. 🙂

In one of its cobbled alleyways, where time seems to have stopped, there is a charming cottage with green doors and delicate blue windows through which, if you poke your head, you will discover what happens if a typical Mallorcan cottage becomes an original restaurant. 😀 True to the spirit of its owner, the decoration will give you a clear image of Mediterranean colours where the creativity of the chef is present in every corner. 🙂

This is the restaurant of Maria Salinas, one of the most famous chefs of the island, well known for the originality of her Mallorcan recipes that are filled with large doses of imagination, colour and lots of flavour. As you can see, the restaurant is named for its chef/owner, who conjures lovely home-style dishes that look as good on the plate as they taste. 😀 Talking about her, as a short history, let me tell you that Maria is not from the village and at the beginning of her career she did wonder if the locals would accept someone from outside coming in with new ideas.

But with her sweet personality she made it impossible not to warm her immediately and also, the neighbours have welcomed her with open arms and they support her as they would one of their own. 🙂 Returning to the location, this cozy and charming place features a genuine market cuisine with capacity for a maximum of 22 guests—as a specific request of its owner who desires to offer a closer treatment. Also, the chef go every day to the market to select the products for the daily menu, so that the menu also changes daily.

Therefore, here you’ll find always something different to taste and fell in love!:D There are many, many fine restaurants on the island (and more than a few Michelin stars), but here you’ll spotlight the charming and cozy Maria Salinas, situated in the little mountain hamlet of Mancor de la Vall. Chef Salinas devises her cuisine based on the bounty she daily fetches from the Sa Pobla market. You’ll enjoy wonderfully high-value dining here given the three-course prix-fixe lunch and five-course dinner menus. 🙂
