How can you have an amazing retreat in the countryside? Well, is simple! πŸ™‚ Get in the car and hit the road to Mancor de la Vall – a beautiful mountain village located in a valley surrounded by mountains and nature. πŸ˜€ It has an area of 19 square km and is crossed by the torrents of Massanella and Biniarroi, which flow into the stream of Sant Miquel in Campanet. You’re lost, aren’t you? :))) More exactly, this residential town of Mancor de la Vall is situated on the southern slopes of the Sierra de Tramuntana Mountain range, approximately 40km, or 25 miles north west of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International Airport. πŸ™‚

This village has a long and varied history. πŸ˜› Earliest records appear to suggest that the municipality was originally made up of four farmsteads, those being Mancor, Biniatzent, Biniarroi and Massanella. In present, as the most rural Mallorcan villages, Mancor de la Vall is well blessed with architecture that is prevalent in these regions.

As such, a great deal of the village attractions tend to be focused round this theme. Many attractions are situated amongst beautiful manor houses amidst the religious chapels and churches that still form a strong base to Mallorcan life today, making it a perfect place for those who are passioned about history. πŸ˜€

Beside that, the mountain scenery of the Serra de Tramuntana was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2011, as its cultural landscape has remained for centuries. πŸ™‚ Its terraced hillsides at the back of Mancor de la Vall are a picturesque example which makes this place a unique spot for those who are looking for rural tranquility and pure nature. When it comes to food, chef/patron Maria Salinas has opened this mountain-village gem (an awesome restaurant) during 2015, in this little traditional village, in a house complete with terracotta-tiled floors. But about this location, I will tell you in the next article. πŸ˜€ A holiday in Manor de la Vall would be quite similar to one in many other rural Mallorcan villages in several respects. However, for those who seek a little peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of towns and cities, this village may well be worth your consideration. Situated amongst beautifully unique architecture, with the mountain ranges nearby, the holistic face of Mallorca is experienced no more than in this small secluded village. You must have a visit! πŸ˜€
