The island of Mallorca is celebrated for many things but of course, among the foremost attractions there are the fabulous and plentiful Mediterranean beaches. One of them is S’Amarador. This corner of heaven is situated at six kilometres from S’Alqueria Blanca and it belongs to Cala Mondragó, one of the most beautiful and big Mallorcan sea inlets divided in two parts as s’Amarador and Cala de ses Fonts de n’Alís. The area is stunning with many beautiful countryside walks and views to be enjoyed.

Being one of my favourite beaches on Mallorca, this place is relatively isolated which means that only those with cars or boats can access it. Here you’ll find everything you need – sunbeds and parasols to rent and a small bar for refreshments. Also, toilets and showers are available. Surrounded by cliffs and pine forests, the beach is made from soft white sand and is small at 150 metres long but has a depth of 50 metres. It is actually one of the larger beaches in this corner of Mallorca – most of the other beaches are in much smaller sheltered coves but yet still wonderful.

The beach has fine-grained sand with a bright, white colour and the sea water has a beautiful shade of light blue and is crystal clear. Beside that, S’Amarador was selected as “Best Beach of Europe” in 2008 by the website onbeach.com after comparing over 3000 beaches in Western Europe. 🙂 Of course, you’ll find many other wonderful places on Mallorca’s long and dreamy coast: thronged and built-up ones where you can enjoy a cocktail or dinner within shouting distance of the surf, remote and near-empty ones that encourage tranquil reflection (and maybe a long wave-soundtracked nap).

But this one has something special that will make a perfect vacation for every visitator. The surrounding bays are very popular with yachts and you will see plenty of them as their passengers enjoy swimming in the sea or taking part in some gentle canoeing. There is a number of walking trails in the area – highly recommended so that you can appreciate the true beauty of the place. Also, if you follow the paved path to the east of the beach you will come across the next bay over where Mondrago beach awaits you. This is a smaller one with a nice restaurant and is equally lovely if you can find a spot to sit! All you have to do is to enjoy your vacation in this unique spot from Mallorca!
