Some months ago, I have wrote an article about three secret places (restaurants) that you should try while you’re in Mallorca, among which it was Sa Foradada. 🙂 I still recommend it to you and with that, today I have decided tell you what makes this place special. 😀 For starters, let me tell you that Sa Foradada is a true island beauty and one experience that is not to be missed. 😀 The restaurant is perched above a private cove, meaning you have absolutely stunning views from the large terrace. 🙂

It’s a location passed down through generations famous for its paella – as it has been for at least the last 40 years. Also, there are numerous outdoor eating options all of served as the most amazing look out point to take in the surrounding sparkling Med and Mallorca’s rocky west coast. The challenge to get to it is all part of the charm and helps to keep the crowds away during the Summer. 😀

You must know that you can’t drive here: either arrive by boat or walk down the mountain through the Son Marroig estate. If you come by boat, look out for the landmark rock with a hole in it – from where Sa Foradada took his name – anchor in this area and take the steps directly up to the restaurant. 🙂

But for sure walking down makes it a more memorable experience, although it does mean an uphill hike after a generous serving or two of paella and maybe some wine. :)) Along this route you’ll pass ancient olive trees and enjoy increasingly gorgeous Mediterranean views. 🙂 PS: You don’t need hiking boots, but I do recommend shoes suitable for walking over terrain that can be a little rough underfoot in places. For sure you will love it! 😀
