Talking about the seaside and how I said in my last article , Portals Vells is the main beach in the amazing Portals Vells village.
The main attraction of Portals Vells itself is the ‘big beach’ around which most of the town is centred. With the other two, being Playa El Mago and Cala Mago , these beaches have mostly no stones in the water or on land and are cleaned every day. With a backdrop of shady pinewoods, these beaches are perfect for a day of relaxation. There are no buildings, marinas or wavebreakers, only nature pure together with the sheer deep turquoise-blue sea.
That’s why, the most popular activity in Portals Vells is lazing on the beach or eating out at one of the many bars and restaurants. Sailing, surfing, scuba and jet skiing are all within easy reach and there are also a purpose-built play areas for children. This comes as a surprise to many people who were not expecting the beaches of Mallorca to be this beautiful. The facilities includes loungers, parasols and toilets, so there is nothing you cannot find here for your personal comfort. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs towards Portals Vells and it can be left for free in the surroundings. In the sandy bays with turquoise water there are numerous caves to explore. Take the winding road down to the three small coves of Portals Vells, which offers a paradise of calm clear sea.
This fine sallow beach is particularly popular with locals and families. At first glance Portals Vells appears to be little more than a resort for a traditional family beach holiday – yet it hides a wealth of natural and historical features and plays host to some of the most luxurious properties in Mallorca. From luxury hotels to mountain refuges, local markets to upmarket fashion stores and from tourist resorts to peaceful mountain footpaths, it truly is an island of contrasts. I feel passionate about Mallorca and I want you to experience the best of what the island has to offer and Portals Vells beach is one of the greatest place ever.
