The Balearic Island of Mallorca offers a magnificent gastronomic landscape catering to all tastes and budgets! And here you have the perfect example! Holding a star since 2004, this small restaurant on the east coast of the island is a true gem. Yes, I’m talking about Es Molí d’en Bou! If you have been there, then you know what I’m talking about.

This location breathes sophistication, combining high-class dining with an understated charm. Es Molí d’en Bou is unlike any other restaurant in Mallorca, an island that abounds in seaside dining options and traditional, stone-clad settings. Modern, chic and airy, this is a Michelin-starred venue led by Tomeu Caldentey, a native Mallorcan.

The owner and chef Tomeu Caldentey envisions his cooking concept as delivering art based on traditional Mallorquin dishes. Despite its the modern interior, Caldentey stays loyal to his its roots: his dedicated tasting menus offer insights into the very foundations of local cuisine, using products such as seafood and spicing them up with fabulous presentation – color and flavor fuse to create a great option for high-end dining in this gorgeous restaurant from Sa Coma.

The Chef’s imaginative menu is big on fresh, bright flavours and simple techniques. The antithesis of old school Michelin – his cooking is precise and at times groundbreaking. Where he really shines is when he is cooking the following preparations: mussels with foie, curry and apple, lberian pork with crayfish, watermelon and mint or the memorable three excellent not-too-sweet desserts.

Believe me, this is the creative Mallorcan cuisine at its best, with startling combinations of flavour and texture. Bou is definitely “the right place”. The cuisine, wines and service are all superb. Add the warm ambience, charged with anticipation and appreciation and you will have a memorable gastronomic experience.
