I have always told you that Palma is the largest city on the island of Mallorca and is the cosmopolitan capital of the Balearic Islands – a huge Mediterranean tourist destination. ๐Ÿ™‚ But what I didn’t say is that this amazing place has the most famous tree lined avenue with shops, cafes and entertainments. ๐Ÿ˜€ Yes, you heard it well! ๐Ÿ˜› For more than a century this short, tree-lined promenade has been the heart of the city life; it has witnessed fiestas, demonstrations and countless generations of families enjoying an evening stroll. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Passeig des Born (also known as Paseo del Borne in Spanish) is another iconic Palma boulevard, leading from the Placa Joan Carles I (better known as Placa de les Tortugues) to Avinguda d’Antoni Maura. This is a must visit location while you’re on the island, believe me! Why? ๐Ÿ™‚ Because, it will take you through the historic centre of town past a good number of important sites โ€” modernist buildings, for example, as well as statues and monuments that figures important to Mallorca’s history, with trees showing the way and an expansive pedestrian area. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s also a great place to find local comestibles to bring back home as a gift or memento. ๐Ÿ˜€ In the old days it was a place that hosted jousting tournaments and celebrate important events in the history of the city. Nowadays, the boulevard is one of the busiest shopping streets in the city, where youโ€™ll find the shops world’s most famous brands. Also, on this shady avenue are the main festivals and demonstrations, often arranged music and dance festivals. ๐Ÿ˜€ Everything sounds awesome!! Come here to feel the pulse of Palma from a seat at a pavement cafรฉ. A stay in Mallorca is incomplete without a visit to Palma!! Enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚
