Since in my last article I have talked about burgers, today it will be about the vegan food. Why? Well..because there are many vegan people who are looking for a place where they can eat whilst they are on holiday. That’s why! And while in 2015 the Vegan Society declared Mallorca the top vegan holiday destination in Europe, it’ll come as no surprise that there you’ll find a lot of places for diners who want to keep their meal strictly animal-free. Therefore, vegan people, I have narrowed the list down to give you a more digestible selection of the best veggie and vegan eateries island’s capital has to offer. So, come in Mallorca and enjoy!

1. Bon Lloc
Bon Lloc (meaning “feel good”) it was opened in 1978 and thanks to constant reinvention, is still going strong. It was the first vegetarian restaurant on the island and is now completely vegan, attracting a healthy mix of both locals and tourists. The head chef, Toni Rodriguez, is famed for his exotic creations — he has a vegan bakery line that is sold in the Whole Foods health store giant, as well as two published cookbooks under his belt. The four-course lunch menu is specifically designed to energise, while the dinner menu is a creative and delicious mix of raw and cooked foods at refreshingly low prices for such high quality fare.

2. Simply Delicious by Ronen
Fresh, healthy and tasty Israeli and eastern Mediterranean food, is what’s on offer at Simply Delicious. It’s not completely meat-free but the vast majority of the dishes are either vegetarian or vegan and the falafel, shakshuka and hummus platters are all fantastic (as pretty much everything on the menu). Owner Ronan Levy, who is usually to be found chatting away to his many regular customers, is well travelled and his love for food along with interior design, shines through at this popular eatery.

3. Temple Natura
While Temple Natura might not look like much from the outside, as well as being a health food and herbal medicine shop, it is also a vegan and vegetarian cafe and has a real hidden gem of a patio garden at the back. Food is light and tasty, served by friendly staff in a beautiful setting, plus there is an extensive beer and cocktail menu, accompanied by healthier juice options. It’s a lovely place to while away a couple of hours, with the bonus of regular art exhibitions put on in the garden.
