Let’s start our week continuing with our cultural tour of Palma. Today, I want to present you a totally unique late 17th century patio. It’s called Can Oleza, and its peculiarity relies on the marvelous combination of all the elements that thereinafter became the distinctive feature of Palma’s houses.

Obviously, I’m talking about Ionic columns, low segmental arches, loggias and iron balustrades. The composition’s elegance and noble bearing inspired an amendment style that gained popularity in the Balearic Islands during the 18th century.

If it happens to pass by Calle Morei no. 9, please do visit this outstanding architectural heritage.
