The Spanish islands are like a magnet for millions of tourists. From these three islands – Ibiza, Menorca and Mallorca, the last one is the largest and most visited. Whether you want to cross the mountains (Sierra de Tramuntana) and the streets that roam along the coast (up to Cape Formentor) or you want to stay at the beach, visit museums, retreat to churches or dance until dawn in a club, you can do it on a vacation in Palma de Mallorca. Is an opportunity to live a dream vacation and you will have without any doubt an unforgettable adventure. Each region from Mallorca has its own good tourist attractions to keep you busy on your vacation and make you come back here. The northeast of the island is “reserved” for history, the east coast has plenty of beaches and caves and to the north and west, e the spectacular landscapes and picturesque villages will charm you in a second.

Porto Cristo Lighthouse, Majorca island, Spain

The real Mallorca, wild, rustic and modest, awaits tourists from all over the world providing everything you’ve ever dreamed of. Rent a car and enjoy the scenery of the Tramuntana Mountains, the center of the island ( Palma ), the picturesque villages, the old fortresses and stop by the sea for a swim in one of the most beautiful bays of the island.

Talking about the seaside and coves, let me tell you about this amazing place named Porto Cristo. Historically, it was a busy fishing town but now the heart of this small resort is a natural harbour crammed with boats of all shapes and sizes.

Located on the east coast of Mallorca in a stunning cove with crystal clear low waters and sheltered from winds, gives that quiet and intimate feeling so welcomed after the busy daily life. This beautiful place used to be one of the biggest holiday destinations on the east coast and is still very popular in our days. Famous for the network of spectacular underground caves and lakes, is definitely worth a visit if you’re staying in the resort. Porto Cristo has a good sandy beach who bears its name, many places where you can eat, bars, stores and a real cosmopolitan air around  it.

Numerous shops and restaurants line up along the promenade offering a colourful mix from pizza to paella. Some of the best are found around the beautiful marina and are particularly popular for their special atmosphere or fancy menus. The harbour used to be an active fishing port but nowadays is more a yacht dock.

However, the fishing industry is still ongoing here and for sure you will want to try the fish and shellfish dishes when you’ll dining here. It’s absolutely marvelous! Everything about Porto Cristo is easy, even the nightlife is blissfully relaxed so you can happily settle into a bar with a bottle of wine. After a tasty dinner, a good glass of wine and a quiet sleep, what’s better than a lazy beach day?

You have to know that this is the ideal place because the Porto Cristo’s beach is a relaxing, family-friendly spot and has lots of visitors, especially in the summer months. Whilst parents relax on the loungers under the shade of the straw beach umbrellas, children can swim to an offshore pontoon with a slide.

The sea is calm and as the pedalos  is the only watersport, things stay also pretty quiet .Although it can get a little busy, you will find a nice spot here where you can feel good. Every beach is unique. Apart from how its surroundings looks, the mainly reason is the people and the amenities which give the beach its character. It’s perfect for a relaxing holiday and for those who has already booked a vacation here, I hope you’ll have fun!
