If you are looking the perfect place for a break, then you have to know about this peaceful location on the island. One of Mallorca’s most important fishing ports, Cala Rajada (also known as Cala Ratjada) is located in the north east, more precisely in the Capdepera municipality. It’s at the heart of an area that is particularly popular with Germans and many of them are living here. The heart of the town is around the harbour and the long promenade that stretches from Playa Son Moll to the south to Cala Gat on the peninsula.

Cala Ratjada is the closest point in Mallorca to Menorca and on a clear day is possible to see Ciutadella, the old capital of Menorca. This fishing port is surrounded by fine white sand beaches and pretty coves having two different characters depending of the period you choose to go. The natural beauty of Cala Agulla, the fine golden sands and clear blue/green seas against the backdrop of the Mountains has to be seen to be appreciated. You will find sunbeds, parasols, pedalos on this beach and also snack-bars.

Cala Agulla is very popular with surfers who come to have fun when the weather produces waves big enough. Around Cala Ratjada there are several other beaches. Cala Gat is a small beach with turquoise waters and a sandy bay.

Following on from Cala Agulla at the end of it is the most amazing natural Forest. The forest area starts near the main road and extends down to the beach and coastline. This is such a beautiful cool place to walk in the summer season especially because at the end of the forest trail you will find small quieter coves. Every summer this amazing location it’s a crowded resort with windsurfing, snorkelling and numerous discos popular within the German community.

This pretty town on a scenic, rocky coastline provides well for visiting tourists and has retained much of its history, charm and character – this is a perfect choice if you want to avoid crowded resorts and explore the east coast. Here you’ll find a totally different world and you’ll have a lot of things to do for fun.  Cala Ratjada is a great place for those who are looking to spend their holidays partying, but is also a superb place to spend a family holiday. Enjoying the lively bars and restaurants during peak holiday season, in Cala Ratjada itself are numerous places were you can eat along the spacious promenade which extends until the harbour. The restaurants are tastefully furnished and offers local as well as international food and drinks.

From the tables outside you have a great view of the harbour and the sea. As an alternative for food and drink, there are several snack bars, small supermarkets and bars in the street parallel to the harbour. Cala Ratjada has a lot to offer. There are several places of historical interest to visit, for those who are passionate for history on their holiday destination. You can stroll through the forest in the shade up to the white lighthouse of Far de Capdepera at the eastern tip of Mallorca.

A part of the Villa SaTorre Cega, which today is called the Blind Tower, was in the past also used as a lighthouse and is now a fantastic museum. Other sights worth visiting are the historic castle of Castell de Capdepera and of course Cuevas de Artá, the giant limestone cave near Canyamel. In the park grounds of the Villa March there are sculptures of international artists on display and sometimes the garden is used for occasional public summer concerts.

On the other side, for those who cannot live without doing daily activities, the east coast is one of the better locations for surfers as it often experiences choppier waters than the largely calm beaches of the island. Combining hill walking is all too easy in Mallorca and with the smaller mountain range of Serra Llevant right by Cala Ratjada, it’s the perfect place to take a walk in the outdoors. The Serra Llevant has peaks no higher than 500m. The fashion lovers has to know that, although Cala Rajada is not a shopping destination, here you will find everything you need to enjoy your holiday. The main shopping strip is to be found on the L’Agulla Elinor Servera street. There are also several larger towns nearby offering a wider range of shops and local markets. Therefore, traveling in Mallorca is a blessing for every person on this earth. In every corner of this city exist a place for you, but all you have to do is to find it and have fun.e
