Being the closest village to the bustling city of Palma, Genova is unique in Mallorca and maybe one of the most select and exquisite of all the island. More exactly, this spot is an idyllic Mallorcan village located in the south-west situated at the foot of the Naburgesa Mountain range where thanks to its exclusive properties and its privileged location is one of the best residential areas of the beautiful Mediterranean island.

Beside the fact that is a perfect choice for an awesome vacation being at only 5 km from the historical core of the island capital, here you’ll find an excellent transport, exclusive villas, many good restaurants and a fantastic view over Palma. At a few minutes drive from the busy streets, traffic and shops of the city you will find yourself perched upon mountain peaks looking down at the sea and the local pine forests surrounding this picturesque location.

Genova with its narrow winding streets and traditional Mediterranean style villas will make you feel as if you are tucked away in a quiet corner of the island. Also, sport and leisure activities of all kinds can be found in here – whether sailing in the bay of Palma, boating or golfing in one of the three close golf clubs, the water and golf enthusiasts will be delighted. When it comes to food as I mentioned above, a part of Genova has many good restaurants and is a well visited place for dining out.

The village with its views and charm has attracted passionate chefs so you can choose now from around 20 great restaurants. This is where many Palma residents or the tourists are going when they want to enjoy genuine and good Spanish food. Therefore, if you want to see what I’m talking about, dedicate a day to this place where you can relax, have fun and try for example the great lamb dishes, pulpo a la gallega, pimientos de padrón or the typical pa amb oli. For dessert, you have to try the crema catalana. It’s delicious! Traveling to Génova is really perfect if you are looking for the genuine Spanish village feel, living close to nature but at the same time close to Palma and the city vibe.
