Who doesn’t want a life far away from any noise of big cities and mass tourism, where you’ll have time to dream, to think, to enjoy the blissful peace and live in the real wonders of life. Es Capdellà is a village in the municipality of Calvià on the island of Mallorca, part of the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The pure scent of fresh air and the lush beauty of the mighty mountains make this little village a countryside lovers dream. It nearly seems that time stands still in this area of Mallorca. Calvià and Capdella are known as rural regions, where most inhabitants live in traditional farms with Mediterranean style elements on dreamlike estates or spacious properties that insert harmonically in local natural landscapes. Situated on the hill known as the Puig de sa crane at 115 m (377 ft) above sea level, it has an area of 71.81 hectares. The closest neighboring villages are Galilee and Andratx.

Es Capdellà is a residential area of various nationalities (about 80 by the year 2009) and it has a population of approximately 1,000 inhabitants. Is a great location to enjoy the nature and a relaxed stay in some of the most delightful part of Mallorca. From every corner of this wonderful place you can enjoy beautiful views of the mountainous landscape and breathe absolute peace thanks to its privileged setting surrounded by nature and lovely mature gardens. Stone-faced village houses, rustic fincas and architect-designed villas are home to a lively international community which keeps this village unique all-year-round.

In the centre of the village is the church of Mount Carmel (Verge del Carme) built in the XVIII century and the beginning of the XIX century, is the main attraction for most of tourists. The imposing presence of the Puig de Galatzó with its 1027 metres high, dominates the rural scenery of the village that was built between the XVII and XVIII centuries by workers of the old manor houses in the area. With historical evidence back to the Roman and Arab occupation and the restored castle hotel of Castell Son Claret, which incidentally boasts a Michelin star restaurant and dates back to the mid-1800s, you may feel that you have stepped back in time in this delightful place . For such a small village, es Capdellà has quite a few excellent restaurants to choose from, some of them having an excellent reputation including the restaurant Zaranda located at the Castell Son Claret boutique hotel.

With two Michelin stars, Zaranda offers a memorable gastronomic experience based on a choice of tasting menus by Fernando P Arellano. Because here rules Mallorcan cuisine, the Bar Nou is also important as it is the central meeting point for the village and a stopping point for numerous tourists who make trips around, either on foot, by bike or car.

This popular restaurant serves traditional food  and even more, is specialized in shrimps. As well as enjoying the tasty food and amazing scenery there are plenty things to do : for those that enjoy hiking and biking in beautiful and natural surroundings, Es Capdella makes a good base for sports. Awe inspiring scenery of the majestic mountains lays all around you in this very special idyllic location. Is also within easy distance of the many highly rated beaches on the southwest coast and world-class golf resorts. To enjoy many other locations in the south west, the only thing you have to do is driving for 15-30-minutes to reach nearby towns and villages. The intensely beautiful location and the village atmosphere makes this an extremely desirable place to live. With an array of pretty traditional village houses and some magnificent villas, the lively caramel coloured stone buildings fits all perfectly in this desirable area.
